One of the things you may never hear discussed amongst the keynote speaker crowd is what they should or should not wear on stage. There are as many opinions on this as there are keynote speakers. Some say never to wear red because it is an angry color and evokes high levels of emotion in the audience. Others say that this is exactly the reason you should wear red while on the platform; because you want to arouse the emotions of your audience.
You may have heard some dress for success coaches say that business people should not wear green because it is a dishonest color. Still others say that black is too harsh and you should only wear navy blue or dark grey. I am of the opinion that you should wear whatever color you look good in. While it is difficult to know what to wear to the office, if you are a keynote speaker you need to wear something memorable as well as professional.
